About Marie

Marie McDermott Nutritional TherapyI have always had a passion for good food and cooking. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than feeding my family and friends with the best of food. Good food is the foundation of good health. We cannot expect to be in the best of health if we are not eating correctly. Food is one of our great pleasures and is there to be enjoyed. Following a delicious healthy diet is not difficult in fact it is a pleasure.

With the interest I had in food and good health, I returned to study nutritional therapy formally at The College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2005 and qualified in 2008.

I am a member of the Irish Association of Nutritional Therapists (www.iant.ie).  IANT ensure their members have attained the highest standards in the science of nutrition and clinical practice before they can be accepted into the association, ensuring each nutritional therapist is fully qualified to assist you in optimising your health through dietary and lifestyle changes

I specialise in weight loss, digestive health, improving mood through food, stress reduction and lifestyle balancing.

After I qualified and started to see clients I saw that many people coming to see me had very stressful lives and found it difficult to wind down. Sometimes dietary changes need to be combined with relaxation methods and lifestyle changes. With this in mind I trained in Ayurvedic  Abhyanga massage. Abhyanga is an extremely relaxing full-body oil massage using medicated herbal oils for rectifying imbalances in the body. This massage reduces stress, tones and relaxes muscles, improves immunity, relieves stiffness in the joints and increases energy and vitality, and assists in the elimination of toxins.
